Talmud in Czech
Published working translation
The complete Czech translation of the Babylonian and Jerusalem Talmud is published alongside the Hebrew and Aramaic original. The text keeps improving through corrections and scholarly review: every paragraph has a ✎ button for suggestions.

Mission
The Talmud should not be closed to anyone who cannot read Aramaic.
For most readers in Europe the Talmud has never existed in their own language. We make the classical Jewish texts, the Hebrew and Aramaic languages and Jewish tradition accessible to the public in the Czech Republic and abroad.
- I
Translate
The Talmud and other Jewish texts, into Czech and other languages, segment by segment, with notes and commentary.
- II
Publish openly
Free online under an open licence, always next to the original, so anyone can check it, quote it and build on it.
- III
Teach and connect
Educational, lecture and publishing work, with academic, religious and cultural institutions at home and abroad.
Every translation begins with collaboration.
We welcome Hebrew and Aramaic scholars, translation reviewers and partner universities to help develop open editions of classical Jewish texts.
- Review a translation. Use the ✎ button on any paragraph of the Czech edition.
- Partner with us. Universities, Jewish communities, foundations and publishers.
- Donate. Opening soon: we are being entered in the Czech public register; tax-deductible gifts will follow through a transparent account.
